I hope everyone a good weekend. Mine started a bit rough.. so Friday night we had the Hispanic heritage festival at school. When I went to leave my car wouldn’t start. I was walking back in to the festival to get some help and I stopped Childers on her way out. I asked her if she had jumper cables , she did so she pulled her car up to mine and we’re like okay we can do this. We stared at it for a while and then I said let me go get a guy that’s inside that will be able to help us! Haha so I found coach Bastidas and asked him if he could come out and help us. He is a good guy so he did! Haha he jumped it but in true dad fashion walked us thru how to do it. Then said on your way home stop at AutoZone and have them run a diagnostic on it. It was good advice so I stopped at AutoZone and I had them run a diagnostic on it. The kid told me my battery was testing good my alternator is tasting good but my starter system was testing with an error. I said okay so what do we do. He said well it was kind of fresh outside today which was a change from what the weather has been he said maybe your battery just had a bad day. See what it’s like tomorrow if it continues to happen then come in and we’ll get you a starter. Hindsight is 20/20 and I should have just said you know what put a battery in it let’s move on especially because what do you mean my battery had a bad day? Like what is it working a 9:00 to 5:00 and doesn’t like Susan un HR? But I said okay because he’s more of a professional about this than I am so I went home went to bed! Well I got up in the morning to go have breakfast with friends and it wouldn’t start. After a couple phone calls and a neighbor who had a Nifty jumper box thing I got the car to O’Reilly and they replaced the battery car is working fine.
I needed it to be working because I was driving me and a few people to the science museums mad scientist ball! It is such a fun evening, we dresses up, we eat fancy food, we watch people bid then spend over 6k to have 100 people watch the polar express at the omni theater! It’s a good time!!
I tell people all the time how grateful I am for tcu, for the Andrews institute, and for Molly. This is one of my favorite events that I get to experience. TCU, the Andrews institute, and Molly have given me so many experiences that I just would not have had otherwise. Ihave done research, written grants, taught adults, published articles, presented and attended conferences in Costa rica, Knoxville, Salt Lake City Colorado Springs, Denver, and this year Chicago and Paru!
Looking back on the past 15 years I can say u am so grateful i attended my first Teacher Quality Professional Development, look at all the experiences and friendships have come out of that! Thank you TCU. Thank you Andrews Institute! And thank you Molly!!!
