The Chronicles Of Nay

Oh man! It has been such a long time!  It has been busy but let me catch you up. I finished my office during spring break. Maybe we call it the library not the office since I moved the desk out. I was fortunate enough to be able to go to Denver for a conference. And I had book club. I can’t talk too much about book club because there are a lot of rules and I don’t want to accidentally break one! haha

Ok so my library. I don’t know how many people know about my wall of shelfs. I got all of my shelfs on facebook market place and I paid less than $200 for all of them. When my grandma passed away I got a roll a way bed from her. A friend gave me a chair that they didn’t want any more and I picked up the end table from the curb. I am still working on collecting all of my books. If you know me I have books EVERYWHERE! But so far this is what it looks like! yes! I color coded my books! I LOVE IT! I heard that 1000 books constitutes a library and I now have life goals!

I took a few days after spring break and went to Denver for conference. While I was gone Gabbana got to spend some time with Sandie and her puppers. While on the plane I finished a project I have been saying I was going to do for a while! haha I put patches on my purse. So, I went to the national association for research in science teaching conference NARST. It was… Intense. It was a little intimidating. It was kinda cool to meet some of the people we have read in class. But also it was super intimidating. I went to a lot of sessions where I felt like I just sat there staring. Like I have no idea what was going on a lot of the time! It was intimidating to think that people are going to expect me to know this stuff with in a couple of years. I know that I will get better at it and it will start to make sense and all of that, but it was still intimidating!

So most of you know I am not a big drinker, there are a few reasons but they are mine. When hanging out with the wrong people it is always an issue. They automatically believe they are entitled to an explanation of why, or they try to buy me drinks or make comments about me not drinking. It happens all the time. However, with the right people none of that matters. Well I have a small group of friends that I am in a book club with. Like I said before at the risk of breaking a rule we won’t be discussing the book club! haha but really, they all have wine glasses that say the name of the book club and their name. I started with this book club and when it was time to do the “toast to this months book” I asked for coffee and they obliged. I have known some of these people for a while so they knew that this coffee wasn’t a freak thing! haha Well the following month they told me that they usually get wine glasses about this time for the new members but they wanted to ask me my opinion. They didn’t want me to feel left out but they also knew I would never use a wine glass so this is the solution they came up with!

This is how I know I have found my people! They just accept me for who I am! It is nice when you find your people. I have such a solid hand full of people that are just my people. I don’t have to apologize for being me, I don’t have to justify why. Thank you! Well I really should get some things on my todo list done! I hope that everyone has a great Easter weekend!
