This week in review:
This week was exhausting! This is week 3 of school here is how it is going:
- I found where another water fountain with the bottle filler is.
- I submitted 3 seating charts with lists of kids that were sitting within 6 feet of my scientists (I am calling my students scientists this year!) that tested positive.
- Monday I almost strangled a child because he wouldn’t stop! He had something to say about everything. If I said “put your name on this corner of this paper” he would say “Ms, Ms, Ms… This corner”, Tuesday the same kid said Ms how come the last two days your intro page (for the daily presentation) hasn’t had a llama on it? Then he proceeded to talk throughout the whole class. Wednesday he comes up to me and hands me three unwrapped m&M’s. Quite a rollercoaster with this kid this week! I was honored that he wanted to share his candy with me. Especially since most of our conversations that week were me asking him to stop talking while I was talking! However I do wish they had been packaged! Haha
- I had a kid come up to me in complete tears when I asked her what was wrong she told me she didn’t feel good. I wrote her a pass to go to the nurse. Poor thing!
- I had a kid approach me and ask me if I was staff, then asked if there were tambourines in the band. I told him I didn’t know but that there were not any in science he left seemingly content with the interaction. I looked around waiting for the band teachers to jump out and say “gotcha!” but they didn’t
- I had my scientists help me make a hall wall size periodic table
- I burned my finger on the hot glue gun as I hung up my hall wall size periodic table.
- I discovered that one of my frustrating scientists had a brother in my class last year and apparently he is more afraid of him than his mom. That was good info to have!
- I had a scientist try to cut another kid’s hair. Then when I flipped out on her she pouted. Like I swear I think I looked like sully from monsters Inc. Minding my own business then… “PUT THE SCISSORS DOWN!!!!!”
- I discovered that my scientists are picking up on procedures. I had one tell me “Ms what are we doing today? The board is empty!” It was empty because I didn’t wanna rewrite the stuff from the day before. But they are noticing! Now I just have to keep up with it!
- I reworked procedures that weren’t working. Like the journal collection process.
- I put out my new Llama rug!
- The students are ready to spend their hard earned participation tickets.
- I was told that I seemed very organized. I am glad I am putting on a nice front!
- I got to partake in a few meals with friends.
- I got to my parents Kroger gas points before they did!
- Gav and Kee are doing much better this week!
Overall for the week I think I will give it 7 out of 10. There is room for growth but it wasn’t the worst week ever! I can already tell next week will be lower… It is progress report time!
