The Chronicles Of Nay

Hello! Happy Wednesday! I hope that everyone is doing well. I am doing pretty well. Using this summer to rest and recharge. I feel like there is nothing going on in my life but I feel like I have a lot to tell you! I am taking a lot of time to take naps and watch Disney movies. Also trying this whole dating thing! This is also the time to experiment with my hair. The one productive thing I have done is my civic duty!  

I am working my way through Disney+. I am watching both the animated and live action movies. I don’t remember watching some of these as a kid. Most of them bring back good memories though. I have watched the animated and live action movies of most of the disney classics. It has been very nostalgic haha! So for the list let’s see I have watched both 101 dalmatians, both lady and the tramps, both mulans, both lion kings, both dumbos, both aladins, both jungle books, both beauty and the beasts, emperors new groove, kronk’s version, toy story 1-4, Cars 1-3, Monsters inc and university, Bugs life, finding nemo and dory, Inside out, Lilo and stitch, tarzan, LIttle mermaid, zootopia, bolt, wreck it ralph and when he wrecked the internet, hercules, ratatouille, coco, up, alice in wonderland and through the looking glass. I feel like these are the “disney classics”. I know I have a few more to watch like brave and tangled but Don’t worry I still have a few weeks. I have even watched a couple random ones like Honey I shrunk the kids and Christopher robin. 

So something else I like to do during summer vacation is get a little more active on some of my online dating sites. The problem is that I don’t NEED a man in my life. I pay my bills, I can change a tire, I know how to use most tools properly, I have replaced toilet innards and a garbage disposal. So at this point in my life I am looking for a guy that adds substance to my life. Not one that adds stress and drama! My grandma used to say “mejor sola que mal acompañada” for my english only readers, “better alone than in bad company.” It is my life motto! Haha well all that to say that dating is not going well! When you look at it as “if he doesn’t add to my life I don’t need him” there are very few guys worth the drama! Haha I get some guys that send me some very strange requests, some guys that get upset that I am not willing to drive to their house or invite them to mine or guys that are just very hard to understand. One guy told me “I seened u was checking out my profile so whata gotta improv from a female point of view if u dont mind me asking”. I wanted to respond “perhaps some grammar, maybe some spelling” but I didn’t… I just didn’t respond. Or there was Jay that asked me “Do u drive drink smoke week like ur feet rubbed and toes sucked boo?” or the guy that didn’t mean any disrespect when he was betting that I “suck a mean ass dick” he said he already knows my head game is fire! So… That is how dating is going for me right now! Haha This is why I am better alone! 

So those of you that know much about me know that I like to change my hair with the change of the wind. When I was growing my hair out for wigs for kids it was very hard not to dye it. But since I have dyed it purple a couple times, red and did some bleaching. However, now, I am contemplating silver! I am so excited I have talked to my hair lady. Let’s see what kind of magic she can do. My hair is DARK! But I have faith in her abilities so let’s see what she can do! 

Like I said I did have Jury Duty this week. I was so excited. I am aware that might make me a little bit nerdy but I said what I said! I filled out all of the surveys and then I was to report straight to criminal court room 1. I was so excited. There were 65 of us checking in. It took forever! When we were all checked in the very loud bailf told us there was a unique situation at hand but he would let the judge explain so we were all going to go into the courtroom and she would explain what was going on. When we got in there she introduced herself and told us that we were all set up to be the first criminal case since the covid shut down in April 2020. The case was a capital criminal case. However, the defendant didn’t show. She had issued a warrant for his arrest and we were all being dismissed! Most of the people in the room cheered. I was sad! I was prepared to do my civic duty! I am not sure if I would have been picked but still it ended so quickly. I went downstairs and got my $6! I am curious about people that don’t live in Tarrant county. How much do y’all get paid for jury duty. I mean I am not trying to make a living wage on jury duty… but 6 bucks!? I was very excited to get out of the house and see people in the world. Instead I drove to the court house sat there a couple hours, drove back home and took a 4 hour nap! Haha

So that is how the first 3 weeks of summer vacation has been! My other fellow teachers, what are you doing this summer vacation? Parents, how are you entertaining your children during the summer?
