Good morning! I hope that everyone is doing well.So for those of you that don’t know I have been in Vegas since last Thursday for my “little” brothers wedding. The wedding was so beautiful. I cried a lot! Haha It is so strange to see my little brother as this grown man marrying this amazing woman! She was beautiful, Gav looked sharp, there was crying, there was laughing, they both said I do and no one sang the barney song! It was an amazing day! If anyone is looking to get married in Vegas I highly recommend getting married in the Chapel In the clouds at the strat. However I also highly recommend you don’t stay at the strat. The rooms and the service were horrible! However the wedding was beautiful. After the ceremony and small reception we got to go up to the observatory. Everything just looks so much prettier from so high up! haha
Keeley has been part of our family for the last 7 years. Gav loves her and so do we. She is kind and sweet and she puts up with my brother! Good for her… sometimes I can’t handle him! Haha Keeley is the sister I never knew my life was missing! She fits in with our family so well sometimes it’s hard to believe she is just now becoming a Gutierrez! I am so happy for her to officially be part of the family!
So on to some more serious stuff… I was flying standby on the flight from Las Vegas to Dallas. I was trying to fly out around 3:10 on Monday afternoon. I was informed that there were no more seats on any flights for the rest of the day and most of tomorrow too! I switched my standby status to tomorrow and called my brother. He hadn’t left yet so we decided to stay at the MGM Grand. I got a taxi from the airport to the MGM and was just chilling until Gav and Kee showed up. I played some slots, watched some roulette and played a little more slots. I was up to about 40 bucks from the 20 I started with. When all of a sudden I saw a wall of people come running from the direction of the lobby. I mean Running! Not just walking fast… but running and telling other people to run. So I got up from my machine (yes with my 40 dollars still in it) and joined the running. I made it down a hall and there was a family that informed me that there was someone with a gun in the lobby. We decided to put a little more distance between us and the lobby. We were running by a store that was closing the doors and he offered us a place to hide. So about 10 of us crammed into a fitting room and waited for further instructions. We waited in the fitting room for about 15 minutes before we got the all clear from security. Apparently they arrested a guy that caused it. So far there is not a clear reason or explanation for what happened. I know that when I went back to my machine my $40 was gone and I called my mom. When I got off the phone with my mom all I could do was shake a little. I didn’t realize how much adrenaline was pumping through me until I was dizzy and lightheaded. I had to sit down. Gav and Kee were finally able to come in. I was doing fine until I saw keeley. Then I lost it… I cried! I know that I am fine, I don’t believe that anyone was hurt but it was a scary situation for sure. It was scary to think that it could happen randomly on a Monday afternoon!
I am very glad that everything turned out ok. We are all ok and we got some of our room comped. Life is short. Tell the people you love that you love them, stop being angry with people. I hope that everyone has a great day!
