Happy Sunday! I wrote this blog on Thursday and I never posted it! So read it that way! haha I hope that everyone is had a great week! Let me tell you about my day Tuesday! So last week the administration from school came to me and told me that I had been selected for a recording of my class. The purpose of the program is to promote Middle School as fun and exciting. I had misread it and I thought it was just to promote middle school. I was confused because I mean isn’t middle school required for everyone?

So all we knew was a camera crew was coming to record fun and exciting classrooms. I got an activity together that would allow them to be working together, it was fun, already laminated, and it allowed me to be all teachery! I decided what I was going to wear, took a little extra planning! Then I got to work early and made sure I didn’t have anything strange laying around. haha If you have ever been in my classroom you know that I don’t usually turn the lights on because I have lamps and LED lights and stuff. The camera guy walked in and said “oh, God please tell me there will be more lights than this!” Passive aggressive much? I told him “Part of my thing in my classroom is the lighting.” he said “funny thing about photography is that you need light”. I didn’t know you were here for photography! I told him I need this light out so that they can do the warm up. Then he asked what is that going to be? will they be wandering around for the lesson?Then the lesson started.

These people didn’t give a flip about my teaching. They were there for stock photos! They had my kids move seats sometimes or “go stand over there” or “look at the camera” he told me “work over here with these kids” When I said “I don’t have anything else to talk about” he said “oh that doesn’t matter just keep working with them. Don’t be afraid to come towards the camera”. My kids did so great. They humored them. The entire situation was strange!

I got my kiddos donuts and milk Wednesday to thank them for humoring the camera crew Tuesday. Also don’t get me wrong. I am super grateful and honored that my admin thought of me when they needed someone. I know that it was not their fault that none of us knew what was going on! If I had known what they wanted I would have done a very different activity where we were all wearing goggles and there would have been chemical reactions!

I have so many questions. Like where are these dang pictures going to be? are they going to touch it up a little? I was sweaty in class! are they going to photoshop the penis that was drawn on the table in front of one the kids they were taking pictures of? Where did that picture come from 7th period wiped down the tables and this was first period?

I will say that I am very grateful that my name came up when the administrators were trying to find someone to do this. I am not only flattered but also very humbled that I was selected for this experience. It was an experience. I will be better prepared if there is a next time. I need to go work on some homework! I have 2 full papers and 2 presentations to finish in the next 2 weeks!
