Single looks like a good option

Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone has had a good weekend! My weekend was full of homework. So I know that I don’t really have a lot of spare time right now but I have been humoring some people in my life and have been “putting myself out there more”. Really this just means that I have been more active (Or intentional since that is my word this year) on online dating sites.

So if you are new to my “online dating sucks” talks… Online dating sucks! haha If you are not new skip down to the screen shots of the conversations. (like a choose your own adventure book!) So I have an opening line anytime I match with any guy online. My first message is always “I teach middle school… what is your best middle school appropriate joke?” You would be amazed how many guys tell me they don’t have one! Or they just ignore the question all together! The way I see it, if you won’t take the time to even google a little dad joke then you are NOT going to put in enough effort. Here are some of my responses for your reading pleasure!

I might sound kinda bitchy I am aware. However I don’t NEED a guy. I pay my own bills, I have a house and a car. I can fix most things on my own (or with youtube and dad’s help) and what I cant fix I can find someone to fix it. So if someone is going to be in my life it is because I want them there. I now I have said it before and I will say it again “mejor sola que mal acompañada”: Better alone than in bad company. I am looking for someone to do the mundane things with.

So I was talking to a guy (I have quite a few stories that start this way! haha) for a few days. He tells me that he does dirt track racing. That is awesome he has a hobby! Then yesterday he invited me to go to his race. After some discussion he tells me it is $18 for the grandstands but $35 for the pit where he will be. I had to ask around because as my brother points out quite often I am cheap! haha So I asked around to make sure that I wasn’t crazy. So a few points here 1) $35 is a lot of money for a first meeting. 2) A long time to commit to spend with him when I don’t know if I actually like him! 3) $35 that is like 5 Starbucks drinks! I told him I had a lot of homework to do (It is a good excuse! haha) and told him perhaps next weekend. Since I haven’t heard from him since I am guessing he didn’t like that I didn’t go. Oh, well! Am I crazy? What are your thoughts on going on this? Carlee says I need to date ironically… like how to lose a guy in 10 days… but like how not to get a date! haha

I was talking to three young ladies the other day and we were talking about crushes and boyfriends and I said “girls, let me give you some advice… Date the smart ones. not the ones in trouble or causing drama. Pick the smart boys!” So they start telling me who they have a crush on and who they are dating. One of them said that she had a crush on a guy that was suspended. I said “no…. the smart ones.” She said he is smart! I said “ok but not the ones with the drama not the suspended ones!” She said “well… um…” I told her have crushes on better guys! she said “dang miss you woke up and chose violence today?!?! harsh!” There I am just spreading my single life propaganda to my students! haha actually no… just the reminder (or maybe it is the first time they are hearing it!) they don’t have to put up with shit!

Well I haven’t done anything I needed to today. So I should probably get on that! You know: groceries, Laundry, homework… The usual! I hope that everyone has a great week!
