Summers over

Happy Wednesday! I hope that everyone is well! I know that it has been a long time but I took some time for myself. After my class ended in June I went to New Mexico for the month of July. It was nice I just rested! The last couple of weeks I have been just getting ready for school to start! So much has happened in the past month. I am going to just have to make some mini blogs to update you so be prepared for that!

So I drove to New Mexico and spent most of the month of July with my parents. It was nice. The weather was so much better than it was in Texas. I ate so much New Mexican food. I enjoyed just chilling and spending time with my parents. I am not sure how many of you know that A few years ago my dad had an issue with his heart. So he has been dealing with that but he is doing so much better! It was very nice to spend some time with him and just be grateful that he is doing so much better.

Last weekend I was jonesing for a waffle. I met with Tamara Saturday morning to get some work done. When we were done I was like yeah I am gonna go get a waffle. Instead I accidently ended up at the downtown library that was having a stuff the bag event. I ended up with so many books for my classroom. I finally made it to Our Place. For the record I love this place I am not sure if I was hangry or it was just an off day for them. When I got there the little host guy asked me how many and before I answered he started talking to one of his coworkers then just picked a random number that he thought I told him. I then got seated with a waiter that just seemed like he didn’t want to be there. I don’t know if he was new, inexperienced or if he was always that inefficient. He didn’t seem to multi task well. So I ordered my eggs and ham and waffle. It came pretty quick and I put the waffle aside to partake in kinda like a dessert. When I finally got to it I noted that my texas was backwards. I had already put my butter on it so I didn’t turn it over. I smothered it in syrup and cut me off a little square and took a bite. I was like this is no bueno why is this crunchy? I turned my waffle over and the bottom is filled with nuts. I call the waiter over and I was like “Whoa this has nuts in it I didn’t order nuts”. The part that irritated me was he pulled out his little order machine and was like “um no yours wasn’t supposed to have nuts.” I said “correct I know I would not have ordered it with nuts because I am allergic.” He then just stared at me. He offered to get me another waffle but my mouth was starting to itch so I just went to the front to pay for what I did eat and leave. When the waiter came over he brought the manager. I was willing to pay for what I ate. But she didn’t let me pay for anything. I mean I appreciate that but I was frustrated I just wanted a waffle! I will say that I am grateful that the manager took it serious. She asked questions about how it happened. I am lucky that my allergy isn’t that bad. The situation could have been a whole lot worse!

I am so excited to start this school year! Can you believe that I am about to start my 15th year of teaching? It is crazy! The good news is that I am just as excited to start this year as usual. I am doing a coffee shop theme this year in my class. Are you ready for it: There is a “latte” learning going on in room 141! I have made punch cards as my behavior system for my class. I am pretty excited about it. This is my new class logo

I am so excited for this school year to get started! My room is just about ready, my copies are made for the early part of the week. I am exhausted. Getting used to this schedule again is a beast! haha I think I am going to eat dinner and go to bed!
