I saw a video where the lady was explaining how the birthday we are having is the end of that trip around the sun not the beginning. For instance I 37 so I have finished 37 years around the sun not starting my 37th. Either way, a year is a trip around the sun… and that is what I did… I took another trip around the sun! Let’s quickly recap:
July: I tried a few new restaurants, I had many meals with friends, I played games and I said goodbye to Star (my old car)
August: I got a new car (Clarice Raven Valdez like CRV! haha and you have to say Clarice like hannibal! haha) and I started my 14th year of teaching
September: Got into my stride with school, and work (this was my first semester of working full time and grad school), Also started the duck hiding!
October: The annual month of pink, moved in to my new classroom, my article got published in NSTA Scope
November: Nothing super memorable happened but also nothing horrible
December: I broke up a pretty big fight and got a pretty gnarly bruise! I got to spend 2 weeks with my parents (this carries over to January too!)
January: Spent time with parents and started another semester of grad school.
February: Nothing too exciting, Got Clarice an oil change and filled my APs office with balloons.
March: Got to see Dolores Huerta speak, Celebrated Dr Byrd… This was also the month I accidentally inhaled some queso at torchy’s and sneezed shredded cheese later! haha
April: Celebrated another annual grilled cheese day and bleached all the color out of my hair.
May: Completed another semester of grad school, watched Dr Byrd graduate, the senior walk hit me right in the feels this year, then started living my best summer life, movies and games with friends!
June: Here we are… back to another birthday
Don’t get me wrong this year wasn’t only good things, bad things happened too, but if you only focus on the bad you will miss all the amazing things that did happen! So I choose to focus on that! I this year was a pretty good. even though some friendships were broken and might have ended, there were also friendships that were built, friendships that were mended, and friendships got stronger! I am going to go with 5 out of 6 starts… I was going to say 10 out 12 but the math teacher in me simplified the fraction! haha I look forward to what the next year brings! Thank you for coming along with me!
