When I was a kid I had a really hard time with friends. Let’s be honest as an adult I do too but that isn’t the point of this blog. We all know that saying “show me your friends and I’ll show you your future”. I didn’t really believe it. I mean hey I am a strong independent woman and I do what I want, I don’t need anyone! haha But a few years ago, actually probably like 8 maybe 10 years ago, I was introduced to Carlee. She was a friend of a friend and then a friend of another friend. I thank God for Carlee more than she will ever understand or believe! I wrote about Carlee back in December. I talked about what a hype man she is. This weekend she walked the stage to become Dr. Byrd! A few weekends ago I got to help her celebrate becoming Dr. Carlee at a teacher brunch. As I sat there at brunch at a table with 5 other people I thought about that saying. Here is a table of professionals, with multiple degrees (we collect them pokeman cards! haha), degrees in progress and passion for what we do. Sure we were there to help Carlee celebrate her achievement of becoming Dr Carlee but in true Carlee fashion she made sure to to have conversations about what the rest of us are doing and our accomplishments. If you don’t have these kind of friends in your life I encourage you to find some. This group of ladies was brought together mostly by Carlee but we all became friends because of this amazing women! Carlee has a gift of finding people with just a little spark and igniting it! She never lets anyone in the room forget how amazing they are, she never misses an opportunity to lift someone up, she never passes the chance to tell anyone that will listen how amazing her friends are!
So Carlee, listen here! You are also amazing! You bring people together in a way that you have no idea. You push people to be better people, to be the best version of themselves! I am so proud of all that you have accomplished and I look forward to all the awesomeness that is to come from you! You are going to change the world and I look forward to having a front row seat to see it! Love you Dr. Byrd!!
