Welcome back! It has been so long. I am so sorry for that. Life got hectic and I just haven’t made time for it. I will try to make more time going forward. I have missed this outlet.
Ok let’s see what has been going on. Let’s start with I bought a new car! I named her Clarice but you have to say her name like Hannibal! I am loving it! It is such an upgrade from my old car. It’s like driving a spaceship! It has so many features that my old car didn’t. When they totaled out my other car the guy from the shop asked “are you OK? They hit you HARD!!” God was really looking out for me!
I am taking 2 classes this semester. I had to step away from pool because one of my classes was on pool night. I miss the outlet but I know that was the right decision. School takes up a lot of time. I am meeting new people which is always nice but I am being pushed out of my comfort zone which is not awesome! haha I know in the end I will be a better person and I will have grown, but right now I’m exhausted.
Work is going pretty well. I am really enjoying my students this year. I had an opportunity to move classrooms. The new classroom is bigger and is more set up like a science room than the classroom I was in before. The move came in October, so that was kind of crazy but we have settled in very well! My students are doing a pretty good job of not putting things in the sinks! We got a new 6th grade science teacher. We are all just trying to settle in.
Since the last time I blogged I have read 10 books. The last book I read was called the Grace year. It was crazy! It had more twists than a cheap garden hose. I should have seen the end coming… there were clues! Right now I have started like 3 different series but I haven’t been able to find the next book in the series. That is until last night. I actually found the next book in all three. I found Unsouled, book 3 of 4 of the unwind series. I found the rise of nine, book 3 of 6 of the I am number four series. Lastly I found Graduation day, book 3 of 3 of the testing series. I started with this one last night. That way I can finish that series and be done with it! They are all young adult series but so far I recommend all of them!
I also coauthored a published article in the October issue of the NSTA Scope. We started writing this before covid and when we submitted it originally they told us no. It was for a specific call about earth science I think. When we submitted it again we submitted it in general and they accepted it!! It is about building vocabulary in English language learners. Don’t ask me about vocabulary and word walls without expecting a passionate nerd talk! Haha
Life has been kinda hectic. I am either reading for school or grading for work. this week during the break I plan on doing some laundry and taking naps! I also plan on making more time going forward to blog! I hope that everyone has a good weekend! Stay warm!
