Let’s play a game!

Happy Monday! I don’t know where the day went I was going to post this blog earlier then all of a sudden I looked down and it was 10 and I still hadn’t posted it! Today was frustrating and stressful. This looking for a car is a pain. There aren’t many new ones on the lot. Tomorrow is a new day. It will all work out. Everything happens for a reason! Anyway changing the subject… Those that know me know that I might be slightly obsessed with games. Board games, card games, dice games… you name it!

What is your favorite game? I definitely go through phases! Some of my favorite games at the moment are Kluster, 5 crowns, Racko, sequence, bananagrams, and my new favorite ruckus! Have you played any of them? Trust there are other games that I enjoy but this list is a list of games that I probably have with me at any given time. If it is not in my backpack or purse then it is for sure in my car!

Kluster is a game with magnetic rocks and a string tied into a circle. You take turns putting the rocks down inside the circle and if any of the rocks “Kluster” or group up you have to take them. You are trying to get rid of your rocks first! It is a fun game to play while you catch up and chat. It doesn’t take all your concentration. I couldn’t find this game anywhere in person. I had to order it on amazon.

5 crowns is a card game where you are making either runs or groups of cards. Each round you add one more card to your hand! 5 crowns is played with a modified deck the numbers go from 3-10 then there is a J, Q, K and jokers. There is also a word version called Quiddler. Same exact rules just with letters instead of numbers. This deck is a little bigger than a regular deck of cards but I still carry it around!

Racko is a card game where you put your cards in order from least to greatest but you can’t rearrange how they are dealt. Then you take turns either drawing from the pile or the discard pile and replacing your cards so that you make a run from smallest to largest. We had this game when we were kids. I found this one at goodwill for like 2 bucks!

Sequence is a card game meets a board game! You start out with cards in your hand and there is a game board that has pictures of the cards. You use the cards you have in your hand to claim the game board making a “sequence” or 5 in a row! There is a lot of strategy and a little bit of luck with this game.

Bananagrams is similar to Scrabble but you are playing by yourself and racing your opponents to use all your letters first. It is a word game with a little speed mixed in.

Ruckus It is a deck of cards with pictures. You are trying to make pairs or groups and when you do you put them in front of you. If your opponents have a matching card they can steal them from you. The object is to get rid of your cards. When you do the cards left in their opponents hand are negatives and the piles in front of them are positives. It is fun for all ages!

Book update: I am still working on where the crawdads sing. I had a hard time getting into it so it took me a little while to get going but I pushed through and I am liking it.

Movie update: Since my last blog I have watched Adventures in Babysitting (87), Poseidon (06) and The Lightning Thief (10). I found 3 dvd’s of movies from the list. Now I just need to get a dvd player! haha

These are just a few of my favorite games. What is your favorite game? I follow a couple of people on TikTok that talk about some of their favorites. That is where I heard about Kluster. I am looking for a few of the others. I will keep y’all updated! Well I am going to go to bed. I have a stressful day again tomorrow dealing with this car stuff!
