A year in the making

Hello! How is everyone? I hope that everyone is doing well! These last couple weeks have been busy with summery kinda things and as much work things as I can possibly do not knowing what it is we are walking into.

So far in my district for the first four weeks the students will be doing virtual learning. But we don’t start until after Labor Day. I know that I have the option to go up to school and teach virtually from my campus. So I think I will do that. That gives me an opportunity to get back into some sort of routine. I am kinda excited about that!

This time of year is usually spent buying new things like school supplies and new clothes. I bought a new backpack and while I was at academy shopping for it there was a kid about middle school aged that was asking his mom if he could get  a new backpack. His mom said “on the first day of school you can just come down stairs with all your stuff in a walmart bag!” It made me chuckle a little but it also kinda made me sad that this year I haven’t bought any school supplies.

I am still geocaching. I actually had a 20 day streak but life happened last week and I missed a day! It is getting harder to find the ones that are on my path. I am having to actually go out of my path to find them now! I still haven’t found a good place to hide one. I have a few ideas and when it stops being a million degrees out I might actually look into hiding it. There are a series of them hidden at QuickTrip gas stations. The Series is called Qcache. They are fairly easy to find and after further inspection there are like 95 hidden at QT’s all over the metroplex. I have found 13 of them. I have looked for one in Mansfield and couldnt find it but other than that the other QT’s are a mystery to me! Haha

In my last post about the day zero project I told you about a project I had been working on for almost a year. Well this week I took the last picture. Well here it is. A friend of mine owns a house on Weatherford lake and once a month for the past 12 months we have gone out to the house and I have taken a picture from generally the same area. I mean it’s Texas so it isn’t super different. However there are months the sun looks amazing, and there are months that we didn’t see the sun at all! The plan is to put them in a calendar but perhaps I am being cheap about it but I am going to wait till it gets closer to the end of the year to work on that part of the project! Haha

Some other things that I am planning on crossing off the list are doing a photo journal of my week, and working on some of the pictures for every letter of the alphabet. So my plan for the next couple of weeks is to finish those goals. If you know of any cool signs in the metroplex please let me know! As of right now I need all but the letter L! Haha

Well it is getting kinda late and I didn’t take a nap today so I am kinda tired! I hope that everyone has a great week. Stay safe!!
