The Chronicles Of Nay

Good evening! How is everyone doing? I hope that everyone is staying healthy, safe and cool! I have been playing games, summer schooling and Geocaching all week! 

The temperature in Texas has only been in the 90s this week but it is so hot! It is crazy to think that we are in the middle of the summer. It doesn’t feel like summer time. Usually my summers are filled with sleeping in and staying up late playing games with friends. With all this Covid and curfews that is happening once in a blue moon instead of almost nightly! 

Summer school isn’t usually something that I do during a “normal” summer. I need the mental break from the students so that I can be recharged and ready to go in the fall. Usually the 6th grade students that are in summer school are the students that failed two or more subjects during the year. Well this year our district is doing online learning for summer school. I am helping out with summer school. I am doing paperwork and stuff like that. It has been strange. I feel like nothing has really changed. We can’t get a hold of all the students. One student continues to avoid answering the phone to avoid getting a replacement chromebook to do the work. He has hung up on a couple people that have tried to call him trying to get him a chromebook. So that is what we are dealing with right now. We will continue to try to get him to pass 6th grade. 

So the way that I am spending my days, other than summer school, is I have been geocaching like I mentioned in the last post. I have found 11 caches in the last 3 days! Some of them were harder to find than others. I still can’t find the one at the Walgreens. I did find another Walgreens one. Exactly where the first one was so I am convinced that it just isn’t there! One of the times I went to check I got my hand stuck and as I was trying to get it out some guy came out of nowhere and was like “hey, everything ok?” I was like “Yeah it’s all good” then we just awkwardly stared at each other as he kept walking. I finally got my hand out. Like I said, I am convinced that one isn’t there. I am headed to get another one in this series tomorrow evening! It’s a little farther out but I am excited! 

If anyone wants to go out geocaching just let me know! Right now I have found 41 total caches. My goal for this summer is to find a total of 100. That’s a pretty ambitious goal but I think I can do it. Well I am headed to bed.I have a very busy day planned! haha I have the Lawn guy coming in the morning and I am getting my hair cut.
