Flowers and Frustrations

Hello! I hope that everyone is having a great Tuesday evening. I am… I mean… its summer vacation! Haha So I have decided that sending flowers just isn’t for me. Sit back… let me tell you a story, or two.

Ok so I know that you know about Costa Rica. Well after I returned from Costa Rica I sent the 2 ladies flowers to say Thank you. I used proflowers.com. I and texted the ladies and asked them if they were going to get a happy surprise where they wanted to receive it, at home or at work. Well by the time I was ready to order I hadn’t heard from both, so I made the executive decision to go head and have them sent to their houses. I set them up so that both ladies would receive them on Friday afternoon, because who doesn’t love a happy surprise and who wouldn’t want it on a Friday? Well I get a notification that one of them got her flowers. We will call her C, So then I get a notification that M has refused the flowers. I was like um… excuse me!? By the time I get ahold of her I was like hey they said that they tried to deliver a happy surprise and she was like was no, I haven’t been home… I just walked in the door. I was like well let me do some investigating. I start calling around. I finally get ahold of UPS customer support and they are like well I don’t know what to tell you, someone from the local plant will call you in the morning. Well I started calling the local plan in the morning and I apparently called to early and again I got customer service. The guy was like “well it looks like some “Demz” has declined them.” I tell him“no, they weren’t delivered how could anyone decline them?” He kept saying “Ma’am I don’t want to presume anything however they were declined.” I was getting so frustrated because he wasn’t helping! I get off the phone with him and I receive a phone call from the local plant and the lady tells me that apparently the package was damaged. She was supposed to get a vase with the flowers and I guess it was broken. The driver apparently didn’t know how to spell damaged and took it upon himself to just send the flowers back. So I call proflowers.com and I am upset. It was supposed to be a thank you and it has turned in to a hectic ordeal! So they tell me “we will send her a replacement set of flowers. They will arrive on Tuesday” I was so irritated I just told them fine! Well, if ever you are stalking someone proflowers.com is a good place to use because they won’t tell them who sent the flowers! During all the ordering I didn’t sign the card. So when C called to ask proflowers.com who sent her the flowers they told her that they couldn’t give out that information but that they would notify me that she wanted to know. Well she told them by the way my vase was broken! They apologized and offered to send her another set flowers that would arrive on Tuesday. So let’s look at the flower count C= originally flowers I bought and a replace set to be delivered on Tuesday. M= replacement flowers to be sent Tuesday. So Sunday when I get the “how are we doing” email. I proceed to tell them. I wrote a review telling them that since the vase was broken UPS didn’t deliver and I was frustrated! So they email me back and they say “Well we see that there is already a replacement of flowers out for M so we will go ahead and send out a replacement for C. She will receive them on Wednesday. So yes, if you are following along… that will put the flower count at C=3 M=1! I was so frustrated, I texted C and I told her that I accidently got another set of flowers! She told me not to worry that she would share with M! On Tuesday when C got her replacement flowers her and her husband went over to M’s house and her replacement flowers were had been delivered as well. Then the next day C got her replacement flowers. I mean in the end they both got two bouquets of flowers, but it was very dramatic! Part of my frustration was that when Proflowers.com responded they were like oh sorry you had a bad experience here is a 15% coupon to try to make it better.

So after all of this I think “Self, why didn’t you use someone local?” So fast forward to Mother’s Day. I was going to send my mommy some flowers to say “hey I love you” or whatever Mother’s Day flowers are supposed to say. So I know a lady that I went to high school with that lives local to my parents that has her own floral business. So I thought why not help out a local small business. So I messaged her on the Monday before mother’s day. I asked her if there was anyway that she could do an arrangement of flowers and deliver them to my mom for Mother’s Day on Friday, but since it was like 5 days away I would understand if it had to be Monday. She says sure she got me not to worry. We email back and forth. We talk about cost, Where to deliver them, what to put on the card and then I give her my debit card information and I trust that she has it under control. Well on Friday I still hadn’t been charged so I assumed Monday it would be and that was cool. I checked with my mom that she would be in the office Monday because she sometimes has meetings or obligations that require her to travel for the day to an office about 45 minutes away. My account was charged on Saturday afternoon.  I thought cool she will get them Monday. Well Monday comes and goes and after work I ask my mom “did you get a happy surprise?” she says nope not today. I just played it off like I must have got my dates confused and changed the subject. Once I got off the phone with my mom I emailed the florist back on facebook because that is the only place I have contacted her and asked her if everything was ok because my mom hadn’t received her flowers. She didn’t respond. So Tuesday afternoon goes exactly the same, my mom still hasn’t received her flowers. I emailed the flower lady again that evening, now this is where I started to get to be crazy a lady, since Facebook messenger tells you when someone has read your message I noticed that she has read the message so I send another one Wednesday morning. I ask her if there is some sort of problem because I paid for these flowers days ago and my mom still hasn’t received them. She responded over 7 hours later telling me that she was delivering them at the moment she apologized for the delay. She said that she had been very sick and that she would be giving me a refund on Friday. I did find it interesting that she was going to give me a refund 2 days later but whatever. Well this was 4 weeks ago. And guess what, I am still waiting for this refund. I have contacted her many times and she has ignored all my messages. I am just frustrated because I paid for my flowers and for the service of having them delivered. I was never trying to get free flowers. I just wish I had received what I paid for, when I paid for them and if she was going to give me a refund for failing to do that then I would like to receive that. So moral of the story… NEVER ORDER FLOWERS FOR ANYONE FROM ANYONE!
