So, we are starting plate tectonics in the morning! I am so excited! We do a lab with frosting and graham crackers. The frosting is like the mantle and the crackers are like the plates colliding and separating. I baptize a cracker and they can see the effects of the oceanic crust. So, because of this we needed 48 cans of frosting. Apparently, Walmart doesn’t keep that many cans of frosting on hand. Who knew!? So, we had to order them. The guy said that they would be on the truck Saturday morning so we could pick them up Monday morning any time after 6am. That is so early, and it was the Walmart way on the other side of town… like the north side. So, I show up to get them today and I go to the service desk and tell the lady there “hey so we were working with this guy (I don’t remember what his name was and my post-it note is in the car so we will say Stephen) and I need 48 cans of frosting. Stephen said that he was going to order them? He said that they would be in the shipment yesterday.” The lady looks at me like I am talking to her with 7 heads. So, she gets on her radio and says “Does anyone know about 48 cans of frosting?” The on the other end is like “I know that Stephen was doing ordering some frosting for a customer” the lady said “well the costumer is here. So, then they start talking back and forth. One of the guys is like “um they ended up on the shelf let me see what I can do” Then I hear that he can only find 44 cans. I thought “oh hell nah! It’s cold, I already drove to this side of town I am here… give me my frosting!” Then I thought “how sad… my frosting must have been sitting on the shelf all day and they only sold 4 cans of frosting!?! It’s the weekend before Valentine’s day!” After some more waiting the guy showed up with all 48 cans of frosting. He wasn’t very friendly but hey he brought me my frosting! It was a very productive evening! I am so excited about this lab for tomorrow!
