Hello! I hope everyone is doing well! Sorry I haven’t posted lately… No excuses… Just sorry!
So there are always stories of how frustrating my job is, how hard some of kids are to deal with, how rude or disrespectful kids are… We can always find those kind of stories. Today I have a different story!
So I believe that I have told you all a little about class dojo. I love it! I let the kids accumulate points and “buy” things with them. Well one of the things on the list is “have class in the garden” the cost is “800 points (may be split up by class)” I had a kid that had been asking for weeks how that one worked. So finally Today when we were finally shopping the dojo store he told me “ms if everyone in here pitches in about 40 points… Well closer to 44 points we can have class in the garden!” I could see that he had counted and done the math on the corner of his dojo store paper! I told him that isn’t a decision for me to make. Then the awesome part happened… Another student said “ms what if I pitch in 200 points?” Then a lot of the kids raised their hand and started shouting out numbers of how many points they were willing to pitch in to have class in the garden! I was so proud of not only how excited they were but how excited and willing they were to give up the points they had earned! One of them started adding up the numbers that people were shouting out! They were so excited to work together! It was cool! I totally had a proud teacher moment!!
Well I am headed to bed!! Good night!
